PCP Advisory Committee

The purpose of the PCP Advisory Committee is to bring together the leadership of the internal medicine and family practice groups to pursue the goal of high quality cost-effective care. As currently configured, each of the 20 Pods within BIDPO sends one Pod leader to the monthly PCP Advisory Committee meeting.

Current Committee Members

The work of this committee includes the following:
  • Reviewing and providing input and insuring compliance to our formulary using up to date data from centralized P & T Committees and as presented by our pharmacists.
  • Analyzing out-of-network care and access to in-network services and working to retain highly coordinated care in-network.
  • Understanding our current managed care contracts and discussing future contracts.
  • Bringing in guest speakers who may educate and inform us on some important aspects of hospital services and access to same.
  • Understanding and analyzing financial performance (efficiency and cost).
  • Hearing about and advising on new initiatives such as Status One, PatientSite, Quality Registry and other medical management resources.
  • Having a forum for the Case Managers to interact with the PCP leadership.
  • Reviewing contract related quality initiatives and engaging physicians to achieve higher levels of quality.
  • Advising and reviewing new incentives around improved quality and efficiency.
